Another early, and therefore, short review. I kept referring to this movie as being the conclusion of the “Bourne trilogy”. I really wish that was the case. After this movie, they released “The Bourne Legacy” starring Jeremy Renner as a new super spy instead of Jason Bourne and then they released “Jason Bourne” where Matt Damon returned to the role.
Neither film is worth your time and I suggest that you only watch “The Bourne Identity”, “The Bourne Supremacy”, and this third entry which really does complete a solid trilogy of films. The following review was one of my earlier attempts, so I’ll admit that it was hard to read it again.
Still, I do agree with the five out of five star rating and if you’re looking for solid spy thrillers to watch, you can’t do much better than this film or its previous entries.
THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
Jason Bourne is back and now he continues his quest to find out the true origins of how he became a covert government agent and bring down those who made him what he is. Matt Damon returns as the super spy along with Joan Allen and Julia Stiles in what is, by far, the best film in the Bourne trilogy. Also joining them is David Strathairn as the Deputy Director of the CIA who is trying to bring Bourne down.
Paul Greengrass, the director of “The Bourne Supremacy”, also returns to helm the third, and possibly final, entry in the Bourne series and does a remarkable job like he did with the previous movie. Greengrass’ biggest accomplishment is that he makes this film work with the other two films in order to truly make it a complete trilogy.

Bourne is after those who turned him into a super spy in "The Bourne Ultimatum".
The look and style is similar to the first two movies and the audience is instantly brought back into Bourne’s world with ease. Damon, Stiles, and Allen also give great performances once again and heightens this spy thriller’s credibility.
Damon’s Bourne has finally accepted that running is no longer the solution and decides to take on his former masters with vengeance. Allen is back as Pam Landy, the woman who was tracking Bourne down in the second film but this time, she is trying everything in her power to help Bourne remember who he is while also helping him take down those responsible.
The biggest newcomer to the series is Strathairn. He plays Noah Voson, the villain who is giving Bourne a hard time for this third entry. He is on par with Chris Cooper from the first film and he may even be a better baddie than Cooper. Strathairn is great at playing a man who seems determined to get Bourne while keeping the audience guessing as to why his character is so determined to either bring Bourne in or kill him.
The only problem that I could see with the movie is that it picks up directly after “The Bourne Supremacy” and those who have not seen the other films will need to watch them before coming into this movie.
Greengrass and the cast of the Bourne movies have done an exceptional job at finishing off the Bourne trilogy and have secured this series as one of the best spy series ever to have hit the big screen!
